The Olympic Stadium of the Summer Olympic Games of 1936, officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad. The stadium was originally been build for the Olympic Games of 1916, but because of the first world war the Olympics of 1916 has been canceled.
The new Olympiastadion was re-builed between 1934 and 1936 with a capacity of 100.000 visitors.
The stadium has been used for the world soccer championship in 1974 and 2006. The stadium is also still in use for athletic events and is the homebase of the Berlin soccer team Hertha BSC.
